In february 2024 I looked for a word to describe a feeling… and stumbled upon the word Enshittification. It was coined by Canadian Tech writer Cory Doctorow, to describe “The gradual deterioration of a service or product brought about by a reduction in the quality of service provided, especially of an online platform, and as a consequence of profit-seeking.”

It was the Macquarie Dictionary word of the year 2024 and in 2025 became a bestselling book.

A surprise note of endearment then triggered the I Love You teapot.
